GC Nationals
Subject: GC Nationals, covid update
From: Jeff Soo, Tournament Director
As I expect everyone knows by now, there have been at least 8 cases of suspected or confirmed covid among the tournament players and organizers. Quite possibly the opening party at High Hampton was the culprit; the timing seems about right. All the players who have tested positive or who had symptoms have left or are isolating.
We need to follow the following protocols at our tournament venues:
Chattooga Club:
1. No spectators allowed for the remainder of the tournament (except registered tournament social guests)
2. Coffee & Water station will be relocated to the lawn.
3. Lunch boxes will be delivered to the lawn at lunchtime (served at 11:45)
4. Restrooms will be available at our Life Enhancement Center, tennis court bathrooms.
5. We strongly encourage masks be worn when entering the building.
High Hampton:
We will no longer be allowing spectators into the club. We will only allow players who are scheduled to play at High Hampton, tournament directors, USCA board members, and significant others of the players. Any players that are minors, we will allow their parents to attend. We will continue to offer the players and tournament directors lunch; however, we will be unable to offer lunch to the significant others.
These changes will help limit the exposure to our staff and members. Thank you for understanding.
Country Club of Sapphire Valley:
We are simply asked to practice sensible social distancing while at the venue.
Highlands Falls Country Club:
Again, practice sensible social distancing; please consider masking when in close proximity to others.
